I really LOVE this custom Florence Hair Ornament I just completed for Danielle from NY. I added an insane amount of aquamarine crystal to the basic design of Florence, creating a more clustered look that sparkles so beautifully. Danielle is placing the piece vertically along a messy bun and pairing it with this gorgeous Vera Wang gown. I love custom work- it’s so much fun to go through the process of talking with a customer about their vision, add my thoughts, brainstorm, and create!

Custom Work – Aquamarine Florence
Friday, January 8th, 2010Amsale's Very Romantice Juliette Gown & New Naugi
Monday, August 10th, 2009My love for Amsale goes back a decade or maybe even more. Then I was taken in by the glamorous gowns (and ads) and the romanticism they invoked. I bought a beautiful pale ivory Amsale gown for my wedding several years ago, but ended up selling it and wearing another gown. Indecisive? Yes! I still look forward to seeing the new Amsale designs every season. I am in love with the bodice detail on the gown below aptly named Juliette and was just too happy to pair it with one of our new fall designs!
After designing the Rosaline Hair Ornament below I envisioned it paired with a flowing romantic gown like this Amsale. It’s a perfect compliment to the floral embroidered bodice detail. I almost attached this design asymmetrically to a headband…I couldn’t decide, still might. It looks very chic worn in flat in front. For me there are always too many possibilities (thus buying more than one wedding gown, three in fact)!
Enjoy and as always let me know if you have any questions or comments!
A Real Bride – Yea Jin & Pascal – Married in San Francisco
Thursday, July 9th, 2009I had the pleasure of working with the beautiful and sweet Yea Jin this past spring on a custom version of the French Garden Headband. The result is now available online as the French Garden Comb and has become a customer favorite, thanks Yea Jin! Her gown by 3.1 Phillip Lim is a breathtaking modern style infused with romantic ruffles fluttering across a daring back. Below you’ll see the happiness and love between Yea Jin and Pascal in the wonderful photos taken by Erika Jackson. You can see Erika’s entire blog post about Yea Jin and Pascal’s wedding here.
I was so happy that Yea Jin contacted me afterward to share her photos!
The back of the 3.1 Phillip Lim gown. I LOVE this detail!
And the front…simply beautiful.
Gorgeous- the bride and the photo!
What a beautiful shot of the couple by the bridge!
Yea Jin and Pascal…they truly look so happy!
They had their reception at restaurant in San Francisco, Spruce. Judging from the above painting which makes my heart yearn I’d say it was probably a pretty cool place to celebrate. What a gorgeous painting and shot!
And finally a shot of the gorgeous hair rolled loose and romantic and finished with our beautiful French Garden Comb. Thanks again Yea Jin for trusting in the outcome of the comb and for sharing the photos of your wonderful day!
Vintage & Jeweled – Kate Spade
Wednesday, June 10th, 2009This is so beautiful- I absolutely fell in love with this vintage, mode dress from Kate Spade…the soft two toned color palette set into a geometric pattern is so lovely. Clean and simple lines are the perfect backdrop for the jewel detailing. I’d say an elegant early afternoon garden party wedding would be the perfect setting for the Megan Dress.
Back detail…
And here’s the Jackie Comb from my Naugi line which I would use 2 to 3 of and tuck around a long rolled pony tail perhaps…
Exquisite details and sophisticated styling combined with a budget friendly price tag make this dress one of my favorite picks!

The Royal Wedding Fashion Review
Tuesday, May 3rd, 2011Kate Middleton made a beautiful, elegant, ultra romantic bride! Her wedding gown and reception gown, both by Sarah Burton, the creative director of British fashion house Alexander McQueen, exuded an understated romantic elegance. She was so gorgeous! I love that her style obviously reflected her own taste. Any modern day bride could pull elements from her look- lace, soft romantic hair, understated tiara, or the in season flowers, for their own wedding. Above the fashion, she truly seemed happy and gracious toward the attention she received. Just lovely, and so adorable too!
Her Cartier tiara (on loan), was made in 1936 and was purchased by The Duke of York (King George VI) for his Duchess (The Queen Mother). Queen Elizabeth received the tiara from her mother on her 18th birthday. The sparkling tiara held Middleton’s transparent veil, made of ivory silk tulle with a trim of hand-embroidered flowers.
I love tiaras and headbands just as much as any Princess! Our Night at the Museum Headband is one of my favorites… it’s not quite as tall as Kate’s, which makes it a bit more accessible to most brides. Oh… and it’s made with Swarovski crystal, rather than diamonds!
Are you planning on styling your look after Kate? Certainly, everyone should wear her smile. Beautiful!
