Deco Society Collection

deco-feathers-zo

Aside from the design my favorite part about this collection is the name. I’m an art history buff so any references make me happy, thus we have the Deco Society collection of pieces. You know I’m not a big fan of feathers because they make me sneeze, but they are ethereal and pretty… and they really are in demand right now. I love the piece above tucked into the low side of a messy bun- you can just see a hint of the feathers from the front- very pretty.

If you prefer no feathers… the unadorned version.

I wear the gold and turquoise version of the Deco Society earrings all the time. Very pretty…

New for Spring – The Luvabow Collection

luvabowzo

luvabow_cuffzo

This is without question my new favorite design! I know I say this often, but this bow is just so sweet, and looks gorgeous tucked in the side of a messy bun. Really very perfect.  The cuff bracelets are a new addition to line that I am quite smitten with. I have a headband version of this design. Sadly, it didn’t make it to the photo shoot last week. The bow is set asymmetrically on the band. Very cute. Email me if interested. Thanks to Paula for for tweeting me the fabulous name of “Luvabow”! More new designs to follow soon…

Best Dressed at the Golden Globes

I’m a fan of simplicity when it comes to award show fashion. Much of the fashion is so overdone that any underlying beauty gets lost. Not so with the presence of Sandra Bullock and Jennifer Aniston at last nights 2010 Golden Globes. Sandra Bullock’s Bottega Venetta rich purple gown was perfect against her skin tone and accented simply with jewels by Lorraine Schwartz. You can see a hint of her Casadei signature 3504 Triple Platform pumps peeking through at the bottom. So lovely! Jennifer Aniston was absolutely stunning in Valentino couture, Versace shoes (I love the black toe polish), and Fred Leighton jewels. An important thing about these two women is that they both seem comfortable with themselves and that in itself is beautiful. Well done, ladies!

House of Lavande

Tuesday, September 15th, 2009

As I mentioned yesterday Kristen Stewart wore a House of Lavande cuff to the VMA awards on Sunday night. Curiosity sent me looking for more information and I LOVE what I found! I can’t believe I didn’t know about this fabulous company, which scours flea markets and estate sales around the world, looking for vintage collectible costume jewelry. My love of jewelry began in my grandmother’s jewelry box so I completely relate to the passion it surely takes to seek out these pieces. The House of Lavande website is filled with beautiful photography and a section where if you are so luckily inclined you can purchase one of their found treasures.

I just can’t tell you how much I LOVE the above four necklaces paired together. I’m tingling with excitement right now!

house_of_lavande_green_dress

Not sure if I love the dress of the jewelry more, or if I just love the idea of lounging around looking so beautiful.

I take the dog, pool, the beautifully rolled hair, and the stunning green bracelet.

Hope you enjoy this find as much as I do!

Naugi Paloma Collection Paired with the Camille Gown by J.Crew

Tuesday, May 19th, 2009

brandi_jewelry1

This post is about my chic (and super sweet) customer Alanna who is planning on wearing every piece of Naugi jewelry pictured above. She knows exactly which elements she wants in her jewelry and gown- casual, flowing, bold accents, beautiful- and she has her look pretty much pulled together. She’s wearing her long hair down and unadorned and wanted to really glam up her jewelry. I think she can easily pull it off at her beach side wedding in July. She’s  incorporating a subtle makeup palette and is very interested in how her jewelry will reflect the light on the beach. So interesting (I loved working with her!!). Here’s her J.Crew gown which is another reason I love her and wanted to write a post about her!!

jcrew_alanna

The Camille gown is perfect for the beach and for dressing up with jewelry. We’re making the Paloma Necklace much longer than pictured above so that the bottom crystals fall just above the deep v in the neckline of the gown. She wearing the Paloma Long Earrings as well as the Paloma Bracelet on one wrist and the Alina Bracelet on the other. I think she will be stunningly beautiful and I can’t wait to see photos! Alanna very kindly said I could turn her look into a blog post, thanks!!

Do you have any aspects such as light that are important to you in creating your look?

Secret Love Chandelier Earrings

Tuesday, May 12th, 2009

secret_love

I am so excited to be introducing a new chandelier earring Secret Love! I’ve had this new design sitting on the shelf for a few months now just waiting to be photographed on a white background. I think photography may be another post all together which I will start thinking about…let me know if you have any specific questions about photographing jewelry (not that I’m an expert, but I do have a ton of experience).

Back to the earrings…they are just beautiful with the perfect weight and swing. I’d say they are a medium length at 2 1/4″ and would serve as the perfect compliment to a gown with subtle detailing.

As always please let me know if you have any questions or comments. Enjoy!

Tiffany & Co. Gemstones- Sparkling Gifts for Spring

Tuesday, March 17th, 2009

tif_email_setup

Tiffany’s has an exquisite line of beautifully cut gemstones in vivid colors. I’m loving the clean look and spring inspired colors of these sparkly earrings, pendants, and rings. I was lucky enough to have recently received the Citrine Pendant below as gift! Yay!  I have a special place in my heart for amber tones and think this cirtrine is just the perfect shade. I love the sparkle of this huge cushion-cut citrine! Bravo!!

tif_citrine_neck

Priced at $250 the pendant isn’t an affordable gift option for an entire bridal party, but would be perfect as a special gift for the mother of the bride, and if any guys are reading…a beautiful wedding gift for your bride. You don’t really need to think too hard to find a reason to either give or receive one of these beautiful Tiffany’s pieces- whether a wedding, an anniversary, or a “just because” gift.! I held the earrings above up to my ears at the Tiffany’s store in Cincinnati and wow, they are very pretty, and very dramatic! The emerald cut cocktail rings below are also part of this beautiful line. I really, really HEART this ring but think $800 is a bit much.

Thanks for dreaming with me a little today! Do you have an extra special gift planned as part of your wedding?

Bling your Gown with a Gorgeous Naugi Brooch

Wednesday, March 4th, 2009

Last week I showed a few Vera Wang gowns featuring fabulously placed brooches. I have brooches pinned everywhere from hand bags to coat lapels. One of my very favorite suggestions for brides is incorporating a brooch somewhere on your wedding day; on your gown, hand bag, after party dress, or you can even pin a brooch in your hair. The reason I love this idea is that you can keep the brooch as a keepsake and reminder of your wedding to wear on special occasions and anniversaries for years to come. I rarely make a headpiece that I don’t think would be a good brooch also. We have a gorgeous line of heirloom quality brooches. Here are just a few ways to place them:

brooch_lillian_neckline

I’m starting with what is possibly my favorite of the photos- above is the Lillian Grace Brooch pinned on the lightly beaded neckline of a dress. Take a look at those pear crystal petals by Swarovski! I wouldn’t always suggest a pairing a brooch with beading but I love this. It’s delicate and feminine and the silver toned beading reference the silver of the brooch.

brooch_garden_waist

I made the Garden Party Brooch several years ago for my sister-in-law. For her I made it with light topaz crystal which we pinned on a champagne colored silk band which finished the strapless neck line of her beautiful dress. This brooch design became an instant favorite and one I love to suggest placing of the waist of a gown, shown here, as well. It dresses up last seasons knee length strapless beach dress from J.Crew very nicely.

brooch_lillian_waist

Here the Lillian Grace Brooch is pinned on the waist. I love the graceful swoop of the leafy design. It’s as perfect pinned in this direction on the waist as it was one the above pictured neck line. LOVE!

brooch_lola

Lastly is the center placed Lola Brooch on this deep v-neck dress again by J.Crew (yep, it’s a favorite)! I love how the circular brooch emulates the embroidered circles on the dress. Sadly, the only time I wore this dress I hadn’t yet designed Lola. This is actually a post for another day, but combining 2 Lolas on the hip of a gown is gorgeous and a very popular way to order and wear this design!

Tell me: Are you planning on wearing a brooch on your wedding day?

Pretty Chandelier Pendants

Tuesday, January 13th, 2009

pendants

New for this week is a group of pretty chandelier pendants. They all have matching earrings but don’t necessarily need to be paired together. A larger statement pendant, as a few of these are, may be better paired with a stud or simple drop earring. I LOVE wearing a necklace with a long drop like no. 5, the Penelope Pendant, with a deep v-neck or a simple strapless dress. I would wear a bigger piece like this for the rehearsal dinner or wedding and then continue to wear is for months to come. A better idea may be to wear it only on special occasions, but my style philosophy tends to be a bit obsessive- I get something I like and wear it continually until it falls apart or something better comes along!

The smallest pendant of this group is a new design- no. 3  Pari Pendant. I love the super tiny Swarovski crystals embedded into the oval. Tiny crystals sparkle so beautifully and lend a vintage feel to the design. A more understated piece such as this will integrate well in many ensembles lending just enough sparkle…

No. 2, the Milla Rose Pendant, is well one of my absolute favorites! In my opinion it was meant for a deep v-neck sleeveless lace gown. Oh, so romantic! The medium sized Elsa Pendant no. 1 would be beautiful paired with lace as well. The Swarovski baroque crystal that dangles from the center bottom is gorgeous- a true reference to a light filled chandelier! With a similar sparkle is no. 4 the Claudine Pendant and its three over sized round crystals dropping from a circle of studded crystal.

Lastly, no. 6 the Stella Pendant has had my heart since I designed the earrings several months ago. A  medium sized design with a classic romantic feel and a modern twist (love the over sized round Swarovski crystal at the bottom)!

This new group of pendants was inspired by customers really. We took many requests and special orders for necklaces that came from the chandelier earring designs. Any special requests, ideas, jewelry problems you can’t solve? Let me know, send me pictures, ideas, questions and we’ll create something beautiful!

Enjoy!
